Recently I had this problem. This accessory may not be supported on my iphone. So I tried this. I think it works but I can’t recommend it. I sprayed 3M 5-Way Penetrant (Lemon Scented) into the charging port and also the speakers (because they seem to be dirty). Left it for a while. I also sprayed the usb cable, lighting connector with the 3M 5-Way Penetrant. Both I left it there for a while. After that. I wiped the iphone with tissue and tried also to squeeze tissue into the connector with a pin. To clean the connector. I also rubbed around the usb lightening connector with a tissue. After that the problem seems to be solved.
